What they say about us

Over the past two years we have been privileged to receive warm notes from our students and their parents. We would like to take this opportunity to share some of them with you:

"I don't know if they themselves realized that through learning they opened themselves up to change."

R. Weg - New York - USA

"I've gained a great deal here with regard to learning more and deeper, developing my character and learning to appreciate who I am and what I can become. I've been given the guide and tools to help work toward that goal. I thank you for your idance, your patience and ultimately your deep devotion that you so generously gave of yourselves.

Perspectives of the Porto Alegre Seminary from a grateful parent. My daughter tells me the Porto Alegre Seminary offered her fantastic learning opportunities, particularly in Chassidus.  She also informed me of varied field trips to view exotic and beautiful natural wonders that only South America can provide.  I have seen the photos to reinforce stories of her adventures. Mostly she has told me about the warm and caring environment provided by the seminary, with individual attention and sincere interest in her development. In the end, my daughter did not have to tell me about opportunities for growth. This I could see myself.
Brachas for continued success !"

S. Cagen - Houston, Texas - USA

"Being here in a totally Chassidishe environment, (inside a totally opposite one!) really made a difference to me and helped me define how I want my life to be guided. "

T. Rochwerger - Melbourne - Australia

"I learned more this year… maybe because this year I knew that I was doing it for myself because I wanted to learn. I came to class not because someone else was telling me to but because I wanted to. Although I've always learned Sichos,
I never believed that I was able to do it on my own. Now I do. And I really enjoy it."

R. S . - Montreal - Canada

"I'm really missing you a lot here, and I am now appreciating the 'Golden Era' that Hashem has given me through you. I don't feel that this letter gives enough justice to how I feel.

But I want to just let you know that - there is a girl in England who is VERY different from the girl that left, now I thirst for knowledge and LOVE books.

THANX from the bottom of my heart for helping me grow.

May Hashem bless you and may he keep you healthy and strong and give you the clarity and the strength to continue in your amazing shlichus."

Golda Malka Fehler - London - England

"Dear Rabbi and Mrs. Liberow,

The Porte Alegre Seminary, steeped in traditional learning, exemplifies all that a seminary should be. Rabbi and Mrs. Liberow, the classes you taught were outstanding. Students at the school  learned  within the individual classes and also from each other in small groups. Most importantly, they learned  by being included in your lives as teachers, as parents, and as Shluchim.

The Porte Alegre Seminary developed the ability for innovative and constructive thinking. It also developed the personal character of each student. This happened naturally  because you are a living example of what you taught.

The Seminary helped the girls to achieve academic and personal success. As experienced teachers, you demonstrated true excellence in your classes and understood the importance of the personal involvement of the students within the classroom and beyond the classroom. The girls were exposed to unique strategies and approaches to learning .They witnessed first-hand that learning is not meant to be in addition to life, but that it is actually part of the fabric of life.

Thank You Rabbi and Mrs. Liberow for creating a Seminary as special as this one."

Grateful Parents

"I thoroughly enjoyed my year in Beit Chabad Seminary, Porto Alegre ! The program is ideal for a Sem Beis and excellent for a Sem Alef. This year helped me improve my skills in learning, in general, and 'opened the books' for further studying. I would definitely recommend this seminary to any girl who is looking for a serious learning experience. The trips to some spectacular locations were an added bonus."

Ilana Saul - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - USA

"You taught us that every person deserves recognition and has something special to offer. You showed this to us by supporting our ideas and giving advice when we asked.

You have helped spark this interest in each and every one of us, helped develop in ourselves that which was not yet known to us and have taught us how to apply it on a practical level.

You told us of situations that made us realize that the real power behind our deeds is the Rebbe."

P. Lederman - Postville, Iowa - USA

"My experiences this year have awoken in me a love for learning, a thirst for knowledge."

Batsheva Tobin - Montreal - Canada

"I couldn't be more pleased that my daughter attended the Chabad seminary of Porto Alegre .  She grew in maturity and self-confidence and in her knowledge of and commitment to Yiddishkit.

As a parent you are bound to have many concerns when your daughter leaves to live away from home for the first time at the age of 18, to attend a seminary, especially when this seminary is half-way around the world in a foreign county with a foreign language and culture.

I don't know if the personal attention my daughter and myself received from the Liberows and their family and staff would have been possible in a larger seminary.  There was no limit to the consideration and time Mimi Liberow gave to me in my numerous phone calls to her, whether I called at 6 in the morning or midnight to address my concerns.

The learning at this seminary was not the 'competitive, cram for, memorize for, exams' that these girls have had throughout their school years and would continue to have in most seminaries.  The girls here are encouraged to work independently and were aided in developing the skills they needed to do so.  Questions were not only addressed, the girls were encouraged to ask their questions, to confront issues."

Zehava Rochwerger - Melbourne - Australia

"You have brought Torah and Chassidus alive through your teachings. You didn't just teach, you lived it, you meant it. You have ignited the flame within us, and I hope and pray that it will continue to burn. You have helped build the confidence within us to go on and push forth to do what's right. "

G. Hecht - Orange , Connecticut - USA

"…Her davening and learning has already made quite an impression on both of us; this is obviously due to what you gave her in your seminary. So yasher koach, thanks again."

Thankful Parents

"…there is so much to say.  In Porto Alegre the Liberows really taught us how to learn, they were a family to us and I loved every minute of it!"

Shaindel Kesselman - London - England
